Torche Robbed In Chicago

Torche had their van broken into between 1:30 a.m. and 4 a.m. on Friday after their show at the Congress Theater in Chicago. Much of the band’s belongings including their gear, luggage and laptops was stolen. Hydra Head has set up a Paypal donation page for fans wishing to help get the band back on their feet here. Ronnie James Dio Passes Away at 67

The legendary Ronnie James Dio has passed away this morning as a result of his ongoing battle with stomach cancer.  The following has been posted by his wife, Wendy Dio: Today my heart is broken, Ronnie passed away at 7:45am 16th May. Craig Owens To Reveal Band Members

Craig Owens has posted a blog saying that he plans to begin revealing who has been working with him on his solo album and he promises to name one member of his band on Tuesday. Underoath Announce New Drummer

Underoath have announced that former Norma Jean drummer Daniel Davison will replaces Aaron Gillespie who announced his departure from the group in April. They will begin recording a new album later this month with producers Matt Goldman and Jeremy Griffith. A late 2010 release is expected.

Jimmy Eat World Guitarist To Sing Lead Vocals

Jimmy Eat World guitarist Tom Linton provided main vocals on a song that will likely appear on the band’s upcoming full-length, according to a post on the band’s site by Jim Adkins. Responding to a thread called “Why doesn’t Tom sing anymore?,” Adkins wrote: “tom cut a main vocal for a new song. it will most likely be on the album, and not a b-side.”

Avenged Sevenfold Has A Drummer For Their Tour

Mike Portnoy will be drumming for Avenged Sevenfold for their upcoming tour. He did the drum tracks for the new Avenged Sevenfold album. Mike said though I wish I could stay on board with A7X in a more permanent capacity, the reality is that I am committed to Dream Theater as my main priority (that is my baby after all!), and I will need to resume work with DT to start a new album at some point in 2011….

Soundgarden Live At Reunion Show

You Say Party! We Say Die! Drummer Passed Away

You Say Party! We Say Die! drummer Devon Clifford passed away early Sunday morning after collapsing onstage during a show Friday night in Vancouver. He was only 30. Vocalist Becky Ninkovic pleaded for audience members to call 911 after Clifford passed out, and paramedics rushed him to a local hospital. Clifford is reported to have suffered a brain hemorrhage and endured emergency neurosurgery early Saturday morning. He was on life support for nearly a day. Soundgarden Reunite At Secret Show In Seattle

Soundgarden surprised their hometown of Seattle with a secret show Friday night at Showbox At The Market. It was revealed that a band called Nudedragons an anagram of Soundgarden would be playing the venue Friday, tickets reportedly sold out in less than 15 minutes. Soundgarden played a two-hour set for their first show in 13 years in front of 1,000 fans. In Memoriam: Sex Pistols Manager Malcolm McLaren

Former Sex Pistols manager Malcolm McLaren passed away this morning in New York following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 64. Born in North London, U.K., McLaren was an art-school dropout and clothing designer when he began managing the New York Dolls in the early ’70s. By 1975, he had become manager of the Sex Pistols and rose to fame when the band’s anti-establishment anthem “God Save The Queen” (which he provided vocals for) took the top spot on the U.K. charts during Queen Elizabeth II’s 1977 silver jubilee celebration. Taking Back Sunday Confirms Reunion

When news broke earlier this week of guitarist Matt Fazzi and bassist Matt Rubano parting ways with Taking Back Sunday. Word started going around that John Nolan and Shaun Cooper, who were both part of what is considered the band’s “original” lineup, were back in the band. Today they released a video confirming it.

Fat Mike of NOFX has been banned from Emo’s Annex in Austin, Texas.
