Mayday Parade Reveal EP Title And Artwork

Mayday Parade have provided altpress first look at the band’s upcoming EP title and artwork. The band is currently in the studio working on their next album. The EP will be released March 8th, 2011 and will be titled ‘Valdosta.’ You can view the artwork here.

Story Of The Year, Hawthorne Heights, More Contributing To Nirvana Tribute

In a interview, Story Of The Year frontman Dan Marsala revealed that the band are contributing a cover of Nirvana’s “Breed” for a tribute album planned around the 20th anniversary of ‘Nevermind.’ Marsala says that Hawthorne Heights and “some other bands” will provide covers for the album, and Hawthorne Heights drummer Eron Bucciarelli confirmed to Altpress that they will be performing “Lithium.” Bucciarelli said, “Hopefully, we do it justice.”

The Frustrators Announce EP And Tour Dates

The Frustrators (featuring Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt, guitarist Terry Linehan of Waterdog and vocalist Jason Chandler and drummer Art Tedeschi of Violent Anal Death) will release a EP ‘Griller’. It comes out on February 15th via Adeline Records. Digital release is set for February 22nd. The band have also announced a string of California tour dates. Ex-Paramore Guitarist Josh Farro Starts New Band

Josh Farro has revealed that he’s started a new band called Novel American. Farro says the band is influenced by the likes of Radiohead, Jimmy Eat World and Explosions In The Sky. The band features Farro along with his longtime friends Van Beasley (vocals), Ryan Clark (bass) and Tyler Ward (drums), formerly of Nashville band Cecil Adora. Novel American are planning to record an EP and play locally as they build their sound.

In a statement released today, The White Stripes have revealed that they “will make no further new recordings or perform live. The band said, The White Stripes would like to announce that today, February 2nd, 2011, their band has officially ended and will make no further new recordings or perform live.
