Nothingface Singer Matt Holt Dead At 39

Matt Holt, former singer for alt-metal band Nothingface, died at age 39 in his Maryland home on April 15. He was battling a degenerative illness for several years. Message by his family, While he had not been active musically in recent years, Holt, who toured the world several times over with his band in the early ’00s, is remembered as being an unparalleled talent and as one of most skilled vocalists of his generation, thanks to his incredibly impressive range, which shifted from terrifically brutal to beautifully melodic.

Five Finger Death Punch Suing Prospect Park Records

Five Finger Death Punch have filed a lawsuit against Prospect Park Records, the label that’s released most of their albums. There suing Prospect Park in an effort to be released from their recording contract with the company. There also seeking a million dollars in damages from the label. Prospect Park Records previously filed suit against the band, alleging that they were delivering subpar material to get out of contract.

Black Sabbath Working On Documentary

In a recent interview with NBC News, Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi revealed the band is working on a documentary. “We’ll actually be doing a documentary. My job at the moment is to have a listen to what we’ve done,” NBC News also reports that the band may be putting together a live album of their last show and that Iommi is, “in the process of mixing the sound from the final Sabbath shows in Birmingham for a possible live album.”

Rock Legend Chuck Berry Dead At 90

Rock Legend Chuck Berry has died at the age of 90. ABC News reported he was found unresponsive in his home in St. Charles County, Missouri. “Police said they responded to a medical emergency on Buckner Road at approximately 12:40 p.m. Inside the home, first responders found an unresponsive man, but despite immediately administering lifesaving techniques, the 90-year-old man could not be revived. He was pronounced dead at 1:26 p.m., police said.” Berry is labeled as one of the founders of rock and roll. With many hit songs including “Rock and Roll Music,” “Johnny B. Goode,” “Roll Over Beethoven” and “Maybellene.”

Sonny Moore (Skrillex) Officially Rejoins From First To Last

For the last 10 years, From First to Last have been without one of their earliest members, Sonny Moore. Moore is best for his solo work as dubstep artist and eight-time Grammy award winner Skrillex and the singer has returned to once again front From First to Last. Moore rejoined his old band during a performance at Emo Night in Los Angeles early last month, including Derek Bloom on the drums. Moore is also listed as an official member of the lineup on their Facebook page.

As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis had been released from prison on Dec. 17, 2016 after being incarcerated in 2014 for his role in a murder-for-hire plot to kill his estranged wife. He served two-and-a-half years of a six-year sentence. Metal Injection reports that Lambesis is getting married to Amanda Dubord, the same woman he was dating before being arrested. California Department Of Corrections And Rehabilitation has confirmed that he was discharged to the Division of Adult Parole Operations Dec. 17, 2016.
