Former You, Me, And Everyone We Know guitarist Augustine Rampolla has posted a response to the statement written by frontman Ben Liebsch in which he blames alcoholism for the conflicts that pulled his band apart. Rampolla maintains that Liebsch doesn’t have a drinking problem and wrote, Since we lived in a van with him, we knew he was NOT an alcoholic and did NOT have a drinking problem (other than not being able to handle his alcohol on the sparse occasions that he did drink). Smashing Pumpkins Announce New Album

Smashing Pumpkins have announced they’ll be going into the studio in May to record ‘Oceania’ [an “album within an album”]. The 10 new songs will be released online in September. EMI Music will be releasing deluxe versions of each of the band’s albums from 1991 through 2000. Starting this fall, deluxe editions will be available for 1991’s Gish, 1993’s Siamese Dream and 1994’s Pisces Iscariot. X-Ray Spex Vocalist Poly Styrene Has Died

X-Ray Spex vocalist Poly Styrene (born Marianne Elliot Said) died last night after a battle with cancer. She was 53. She formed the band when she was 18 and released their trademark single “Oh Bondage Up Yours!” as their debut single in 1977, followed by the bands only album ‘Germ Free Adolescents.’

Lollapalooza 2011 Line-Up Announced

The lineup has been unveiled for the 20th anniversary of Lollapalooza, set for Aug. 5 to 7 in Chicago’s Grant Park.
