Tony Thaxton Post Blog On Leaving Motion City Soundtrack

Motion City Soundtrack

Tony Thaxton (former drummer of Motion City Soundtrack) has a written a blog further elaborating on his decision to leave the band.

Apparently, there are a lot of people who don’t quite know or understand what is going on with me these days.  I still get a few messages every week from people who are just now finding out the news about me leaving Motion City Soundtrack.  So, if you are reading this now and this is the first you’re hearing about it, yes, it’s true. I left the band.  As I said in my statement, touring was starting to take it’s toll on me.  Life on the road was becoming harder and harder, and unfortunately I was becoming a very unhappy person.  It just really felt like it was time for me to move on.

Well, now you’ve all been seeing me post all over social media that I am playing in a new band, The Pride of Erie PA.  People have been asking how I could leave MCS just to join another band, and thinking there is more to the story than what MCS or I said.  Well…there isn’t.  The answer is pretty simple.  This new band is a project to just have some fun.  I still like to play drums sometimes.  But, I still don’t want to be out on the road.  So, we wrote some songs, recorded them, and now we’ve put them out there for people to hear.  There won’t be tours.  There may be an occasional Los Angeles-area show.  Random things here and there.  That’s it.  Just the fun stuff.

Sorry to those of you who were hoping for some hot gossip.  And I’m extra sorry for any who were hoping for hot chocolate.  As far as I know, that is unavailable in internet form.

I hope I have cleared this up.  So, for now, enjoy some new music from The Pride of Erie PA.  Our 6 song EP, Let’s Start A Band is AVAILABLE NOW!
