Slayer Guitarist Died From Alcoholic Related Cirrhosis

It has been confirmed that Jeff Hanneman of Slayer passed away from liver failure caused by alcoholic related cirrhosis. Slayer Guitarist Jeff Hanneman Dies From Liver Failure

Slayer‘s guitarist Jeff Hanneman, has died of reported liver failure at age 49. Read below: Slayer is devastated to inform that their bandmate and brother, Jeff Hanneman, passed away at about 11AM this morning near his Southern California home. Hanneman was in an area hospital when he suffered liver failure. He is survived by his wife Kathy, his sister Kathy and his brothers Michael and Larry, and will be sorely missed. 2012 Mayhem Lineup Has Been Announced

The main stage for the 2012 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival will feature Slipknot, Slayer and a major special guest which will be announced on March 5th. The fourth slot on the main stage will feature a rotation of The Devil Wears Prada, As I Lay Dying and Asking Alexandria The Jagermeister Stage will feature a special headline set by Anthrax supported by a rotation of The Devil Wears Prada, A I Lay Dying and Asking Alexandria, and Whitechapel, High On Fire and the Jagermeister opener.

Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo has revealed that they are working on a new album. Also he said that guitarist Jeff Hanneman is still recovering from a necrotizing fasciitis infection he received from a spider bite at the beginning of this year. Slayer is writing a new record. Jeff is still recovering and doing better

Slayer Cancel World Tour

Just months after Slayer postponed a handful of Canadian tour dates due to singer/bassist Tom Araya’s back problems. The band has been forced to Cancel all 49 dates of their U.S. and European Carnage Tour. “Tom gave various medical treatments more than a fair shot,” Slayer’s manager Rick Sales explained in a statement. “But they just haven’t handled the problem, so he’s biting the bullet and is scheduled for back surgery at the end of this month.”
