Muse, Arcade Fire, MGMT, More Announced For Outside Lands Festival

Details have been announced for the Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival, set for Aug. 12 through 14 at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, California. Muse, Phish, Arcade Fire, the Black Keys, Deadmau5, MGMT, the Decemberists and more have been confirmed for the event. Tickets go on sale April 14 here. A portion of each ticket sold benefits San Francisco’s Recreation and Park Department. Ben Folds, More To Write And Record Eight Songs In Eight Hour

Ben Folds, Amanda Palmer, Damian Kulash of OK Go and author Neil Gaiman will write and record eight songs in eight hours at Berklee College of Music on April 25. New Song – OK Go “The Greatest Song I Ever Heard”

OK Go are streaming their new single “The Greatest Song I Ever Heard.” The song is the theme from the upcoming Morgan Spurlock documentary POM Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold. OK Go appear in the movie and discuss the success they’ve had teaming up with corporate sponsors to create their music videos.

OK Go “Last Leaf” Video

OK Go have released the video for “Last Leaf”. Its comprised entirely of still photographs, 15 for every second of footage. It was directed by the band along with Nadeem Mazen and Ali Mohammad with animation by Geoff Mcfetridge. Check it out below:

OK Go leave EMI

OK Go have announced that they’ve parted ways with EMI and that they have created their own company  Paracadute. A statement released on behalf of the band reads, “Just as the band saw an opportunity to do something different with their homemade videos, OK Go see untapped potential in the sea change that the music industry is experiencing and believe there are tremendous opportunities for artists capable of managing their own promotion and distribution. The band, who have always controlled their publishing, merchandise, touring, and all other non-recording rights, are parting by mutual agreement with EMI Music.”
