Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for child sex offenses. The judge told Watkins, “You are a sexual predator. You are dangerous. The public, and in particular young females and children, need protection from you.” The singer was sentenced to 29 years in prison with an extended license of 6 years, meaning his total sentence will be 35 years. He is to serve two thirds of his sentence before he can be considered for early release. His two female codefendant have been sentenced to 14 years and 17 years in prison respectively.  

The other members of Lostprophets have released a statement. Earlier this week, we learned that the allegations of child sexual abuse against Ian were true, and that he would not be contesting them in court. Ian Watkins of Lostprophets has officially pleased guilty to child sex offenses that include attempted rape of a baby. Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins is on suicide watch five times an hour as he prepares to stand trial on accused charges of raping a baby. The hearing is set for October 14.
