You might find yourself in a situation where you realise you are no longer truly being yourself. This could be a reaction to the expectations and pressures of other people…or often a lover. It’s like being in this whole other world someone built for you and you are the actor on the stage attempting to make the right moves and utter the right words. You realise your heartbeat isn’t your own, your tears are like melting plastic as your sense of self slowly begins to dissolve. ‘We Never Shut Up About You’ is about the moment of understanding you must escape the role you are playing in this other person’s world.
Our good friend Sarah Kinlaw directed the video. We wanted her to have complete control; That way it would be a true representation of what the song evoked from her creatively and a collaboration of her art and our music.
