Norma Jean have announced that their fifth full-length ‘Meridional‘ will be released July 13th to coincide with the start of Mayhem Festival. The album will be put out by Razor & Tie. Frontman Cory Brandan said, It’s a heavy record, multifaceted with epic sounding, experimental songs, some fast, chaotic songs, and some melodic, commanding interludes. Any track we didn’t think had reached its utmost sonic prowess was given a second look, revised to be as powerful as possible.

You Say Party! We Say Die! drummer Devon Clifford passed away early Sunday morning after collapsing onstage during a show Friday night in Vancouver. He was only 30. Vocalist Becky Ninkovic pleaded for audience members to call 911 after Clifford passed out, and paramedics rushed him to a local hospital. Clifford is reported to have suffered a brain hemorrhage and endured emergency neurosurgery early Saturday morning. He was on life support for nearly a day.
