Braid Sign To Topshelf Records; Album Coming In 2014

Braid

Braid have signed to Topshelf Records for a new album that will be released in 2014. Check out a statement from the label below:

First off: I can’t believe that’s a headline I just typed. We are beyond thrilled to announce that we’ll be working with seminal ‘90s emo indie-rock quartet Braid to release their upcoming full-length album. Set for a 2014 release, the new album will be the band’s first in 16 years and will follow their recent 2012 front-to-back Frame & Canvas tour.

I first heard about this band from a cassette mix tape my friend Greg made for a girl at his church camp over a decade ago. He somehow never managed to give her the tape so he gave it to me instead. My old ‘94 Dodge Ram van’s cassette player long ago ate up that tape, but the band has been a mainstay for both Seth and I ever since. We. Love. This. Band.

“We’re fans of all of the bands on Topshelf’s roster and love the spirit with which Seth and Kevin run the label. It feels great to be a part of such an energetic and youthful movement – one that is happening right now.”

-Bob Nanna

In addition to the new album, Braid will also be headlining our CMJ showcase on October 19, 2013 with The Jazz June, Enemies, Caravels and Have Mercy. Tickets are on sale for that now.
