Soundgarden to reunite after 12-year break

Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell has announced that the band are officially reuniting. The band broke up in 1997. Cornell revealed in a tweet, “The 12 year break is over & school is back in session. Sign up now. Knights of the Soundtable ride again!” He also linked to a soundgardenworld.com.

Pearl Jam Front-Man Sued For Altering Lyrics

Pearl Jam front-man Eddie Vedder has been sued for altering the lyrics of the track “Hard Sun”. The track, written by Gordon Peterson, was featured on the ‘Into the Wild‘ soundtrack. Peterson claims Vedder altered the key lyrics which “eroded the integrity” of the song. Universal Music is also named in the suit claiming the label licensed “Hard Sun” without Peterson’s permission.

Silverstein plan four-night Concert

Silverstein have decided to celebrate their 10-year anniversary by booking a four-night stand at the El Mocambo in Toronto, Ontario, from March 18-21. Making these shows extra-special is the information that “each night will be a specific album from start to finish, complete with a special encore of rare and old songs + some requests,” according to the band. Four-night passes are $50 CAD and available here; individual tickets are $15 CAD per night and available here.

James Owen Sullivan, Avenged Sevenfold drummer found dead

Sullivan’s body was discovered by firefighters who were called to his house around 1 p.m. local time on Dec. 28. According to Huntington Beach police Lt. John Domingo commented that it appeared the 28-year-old drummer died of natural causes. The Coroner’s Office is investigating his untimely death. Band said on their website “Jimmy was not only one of the world’s best drummers, but more importantly he was our best friend and brother.”

New Nine Inch Nails album

Nine Inch Nails have stopped touring but Trent Reznor says that doesn’t mean the end. Reznor wrote in a post, “2010 has a number of things planned including new material from Nine Inch Nails and something else that isn’t Nine Inch Nails.”
