Slipknot To Begin Writing New Album In February

Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan of Slipknot has revealed the writing for the next album will begin soon. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Clown discussed directing his first film, Officer Downe, but turned his attention to Slipknot for a moment. He stated that he and guitarist Jim Root will team up in early February of 2017 to begin working on new Slipknot material “because we want to write.” No timetable was given as to when Slipknot will actually enter the studio to work on the new album.

The first confirmed acts for the 2017 Download Festival have been announced including the three headliners, System of a Down, Biffy Clyro and Aerosmith. System of a Down will headline at Donington Park on Friday, June 9, Biffy Clyro lead Saturday (June 10), and Aerosmith will close out the festival on Sunday night (June 11).
