The Academy Is… Confirm They’re Playing KISS Tour

The Academy Is… have confirmed to Altpress that they will be playing this summer’s KISS tour. Bassist Adam Siska says the band plan to play smaller shows during the tour’s off-days and that the run will not affect the direction or release date of their upcoming follow-up to 2008’s Fast Times At Barrington High.

Siska statement:

“Hello. As some of you may have heard, TAI will be going on a summer tour of the United States supporting Rock & Roll Legends KISS. We feel like this tour will be an exciting time for us as a band, and we look forward to seeing some of you out at these shows.

Bring your Mommy, bring your Daddy, you can even bring Happy Gilmore’s Grandmother, as long as she wears her KISS mask. We recognize that this tour may seem larger than life, so we plan on booking some other shows for the off days on the tour. The tour will not affect the release date or the direction of our new record. We are thrilled with the progress we are making with the songs, and we look forward to spending time together, traveling across this beautiful land once again. We can’t wait to see you!

More details soon… in the meantime, may I suggest checking out the movie Detroit Rock City as well as checking out the group Mini Kiss on Youtube.”
