Weezer To Record New Album With Ric Ocasek In January

At a fan event in Los Angeles on October 25, frontman Rivers Cuomo answered questions about the band’s upcoming plans, and according to multiple attendees, he said the band will begin working on their ninth full-length in January with Ric Ocasek. He also commented that a greatest hits album is also in the works, as is the possibility of a fourth installment of his Alone series, which compiles rarities, demos and outtakes.

Members Of Weezer, Queens Of The Stone Age, Velvet Revolver Form Animated Rock Band

RollingStone.com is reporting that members of Velvet Revolver, Weezer, Scars On Broadway and Queens Of The Stone Age have formed a new band called Pusher Jones. The band is going to be animated. The lineup consists of singer Frankie Perez (Camp Freddy/Scars On Broadway), guitarist Dave Kushner (Velvet Revolver), bassist Scott Shriner (Weezer) and drummer Joey Castillo (Queens Of The Stone Age), as well as Dave Warren the creative director of The Simpsons. Former Weezer Bassist Mikey Welsh Dies

Mikey Welsh, the bassist for Weezer between 1998 and 2001, died yesterday. He was 40. No further details are known at the moment. We are deeply saddened to announce that Mikey Welsh passed away unexpectedly today. He will forever be remembered as an amazing father, artist, and friend. May he rest in peace. We are shocked and deeply saddened to hear the awful news, our friend and fellow weez rocker @mikeywelsh71 has passed away. We love u Mikey.
