Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison has parted ways with the band. Deftones, Dillinger Escape Plan, Serj Tankian, Lamb Of God Announced For Slipknot’s Knotfest

Slipknot will be curating a new festival Knotfest, and the first year’s lineup will feature Deftones, Lamb Of God, Dillinger Escape Plan, Serj Tankian, Gojira and more. It is a two-day, multi-city event, with shows on Friday, Aug. 17 in Council Bluffs, IA at Mid America Motorplex and Saturday, Aug. 18 in Somerset, WI at Somerset Amphitheater. Tickets go on sale June 8 at 10 a.m. ET.

Slipknot To Record New Album Early 2013

Sid Wilson of Slipknot has announced the band will start recording their new album early next year. We’ve got Mayhem Festival this summer and, after we break for winter and Stone Sour are done with their tour, we’ll be back in the kitchen with Slipknot. Actually before Stone Sour finish touring we’ll be in the studio preparing for Corey’s return, keeping the irons hot.

2012 Mayhem Lineup Has Been Announced

The main stage for the 2012 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival will feature Slipknot, Slayer and a major special guest which will be announced on March 5th. The fourth slot on the main stage will feature a rotation of The Devil Wears Prada, As I Lay Dying and Asking Alexandria The Jagermeister Stage will feature a special headline set by Anthrax supported by a rotation of The Devil Wears Prada, A I Lay Dying and Asking Alexandria, and Whitechapel, High On Fire and the Jagermeister opener.

Slipknot Headlining 2012 Mayhem Festival

A longtime representative for Ibanez guitars accidentally confirmed that Slipknot will be headlining the 2012 Rockstar Mayhem Festival this year. The official lineup is supposed to be announced tomorrow (January 25). Watch the video below:

For their upcoming shows in 2011, Slipknot has asked Donnie Steele to fill in for Paul Gray on bass. He was the original guitar player in Slipknot and had actually reconnected with Paul in recent years. Donnie was in the band at the very beginning, and rather than get an outsider, we thought it would be a fitting tribute to Paul to play with someone from within the family. Slipknot Ask That Thieves Return Items Stolen From Paul Gray’s Grave

Slipknot posted on their website: In a very upsetting turn of events we have learned that some gifts left for Paul at his grave site have been stolen. There were statues of a gargoyle as well as a Buddah that were placed at Paul’s grave by his friends and family that were taken. We ask that whoever did this please return the items no questions asked.
