States Launch Kickstarter To Fund Second Album

States have launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund their second full length album. Read a statement from the band below:

Hi. We’re States, and we couldn’t be more excited about sharing these new songs with you.

It’s been over two years since we recorded our first full-length album with our friend, producer extraordinaire, Aaron Sprinkle (Anberlin, Copeland, Pedro the Lion). We put the record out on our own, and it was eventually rereleased by Tooth and Nail Records last summer. Our deal with the label was just for that album, and we are now doing things on our own again. Over the past year, we’ve been growing as songwriters, and slowly amassing an arsenal of new material. We haven’t been held back by genres or stereotypes. We’re writing what comes natural, and have been exploring new territory.

We all firmly believe in never making the same record twice, and have decided to do this new album on our own, like we did with our debut EP. We will be producing and mixing these songs ourselves in Nashville, TN. While self-producing an album can cost less, we still have a lot of expenses and need your help. For those who don’t know, Kickstarter is an “all or nothing” deal, so if we don’t reach our goal of $18,000, we will receive no money.

Thank you so much for watching our video and checking out the rewards. We are very anxious for you all to hear these new tracks, and plan on doing video updates as things progress.

All our love,
Mindy, Stephen, Bryan, Jon, & Dean
